2018 Moving to Bend, OR!

I’m so excited, I’m moving to Bend, OR this spring. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed my 35+ years in California, I’m ready to move to the High Desert!!

I’m leaving my “real” job as Marketing Director for Los Medanos College and will be focusing on painting…..to my hearts content.

That’s it for now, but will update with new paintings and new soon. Check back!

Santas for the Holidays, 16×20, acrylic

Presentation: Painting the Natural World, in Honor of the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service, May 3, 2016, 6:00-7:30pm, Moraga Library, 1500 Saint Mary’s Road, Moraga, CA

I’m delighted to have been invited to give a presentation about landscape painting at the Moraga Library. Many of you might not be aware that my first career was as a National Park Service Ranger/Naturalist (at Olympic, Death Valley, King’s Canyon and Point Reyes). Although I wasn’t painting outdoors in those days, my love of the parks was cultivated and now I paint in wild places whenever I can.

I will discuss the role landscape painting had in the history of the National Park, what it’s like to paint outside, equipment needed (I’ll bring some of mine for you to see up close), share some of my landscape paintings, and also share works of other painters who are known for their paintings of the National Parks. Hope you can make it!

Check back and I hope to have more shows scheduled!

Moraga Library Show now up!

Moraga Library Show in October 2014!

My retrospective exhibit at the Moraga Library is now on display. The whole month, I am the featured artist.

For details about the library, visit http://ccclib.org/locations/moraga.html

I was in the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival on September 20 and 21.

This is the first time I exhibited my art at this major festival and it was fabulous! I had a number of brand new paintings including several plein air beauties from the California Coast.

I’m having my first show at Orinda Books during this whole month, May 2014, and it looks fabulous! A big thanks to Janet Boreta and her wonderful team for making me (and my paintings) feel very comfortable.

I have landscapes, Saint Mary’s College and abstracts on display together for this rare show. Be sure to stop by and check it out while it’s there and show one of our great independent booksellers some love. They have all kinds of things going on there.

Check out their website for directions, hours and events!

Cabo Morning Light featured at Valley Art Gallery

My painting of a colorful restaurant in Cabo San Lucas is featured just inside the entry of Valley Art Gallery in downtown Walnut Creek (1661 Botelho Dr.). This is my first painting at this gallery and I’m very excited. Not only is the art amazing here, but people can rent paintings to try them out – providing a unique opportunity to see what works best in that special spot. The quality of paintings and other art available in Valley Art Gallery is quite high and I’m honored to be a part of this prestigious group.
